Louis L. ChodoffLouis L. Chodoff handles labor and employment law counseling and litigation associated with harassment, discrimination, wage and hour, whistleblower, wrongful discharge, and restrictive covenant disputes.
Lou litigates in state and federal courts as well as in various administrative agencies such as the New Jersey Department of Labor, New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, New Jersey Office of Administrative Law, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He counsels his clients on the employment and labor law implications of corporate acquisitions and advises employers on all aspects of labor and employment law, including discharge and discipline decisions, employee safety and workplace violence issues, drug and alcohol testing issues, training protocols, leave of absence decisions, wage and hour issues, and downsizing.
Lou conducts training for clients throughout the country in areas of harassment prevention and union avoidance. He also conducts labor arbitrations, litigates matters before the NLRB, conducts collective bargaining negotiations, conducts representation election campaigns for management, and obtains state court injunctions in strike matters. Lou has provided insights on labor and employment issues to many prominent publications, including Bloomberg BNA, Law360, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Westlaw.
Tara L. Humma is an associate in the Litigation Department who focuses on labor and employment matters. Tara defends clients in all phases of employment litigation, from initial pleadings, discovery, and motion practice to trial preparation and appeals. She represents employers in hearings before administrative agencies, arbitrators, and hearing officers appointed under contractual grievance procedures. Tara also regularly counsels employers in the application of various state and federal employment laws, civil service regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
In addition to her experience in private practice, Tara worked in the Office of County Counsel for Camden County, where she represented the county in a variety of litigation matters and prosecuted civil service disciplinary actions before New Jersey’s Office of Administrative Law.
