#AlloyCares: The Alloy Silverstein Group is all about teams – our client, CPA, and business advisor team; our team of tax, payroll, and finance specialists; and our team of community-oriented professionals.
Our South Jersey neighbors know that Alloy Silverstein is synonymous with community. You just can’t have our firm without our loyal, fevered, dedicated relationships with so many local charitable foundations and causes. Being headquartered in Cherry Hill, many of our supported organizations are throughout the Philadelphia region, so there’s a good chance we have involvement with an organization you are passionate about.
Some of the notable efforts that our team members look forward to each year:
Alloy Silverstein has always participated in an annual Adopt A Family drive, but beginning in 2013, we started our own program. Benefitting Catholic Partnership Schools and Center for Family Services, our program has grown to benefit nearly 50 families each year (nearly 150 children ages 6 months to 20 years). Our Adopt A Family effort would not be as large or successful without the contributions and passionate support of our employees, clients, and business contacts.
One of the firm’s largest causes we support is the Go Red for Women and Wear Red Day, benefitting the American Heart Association. Our employees proudly wear red the first Friday each February and then jeans every day throughout tax season to raise awareness to the cause.
In addition to being a top 50 company for Go Red for Women, the firm has been recognized by our local AHA affiliate for being a top contributor in South Jersey, a top 10 supporter in the state, and for several years running, the number one NJ accounting firm participant.
What started as a once-a-year event has turned into “Alloy Cares,” an encouraging initiative for employees to take paid time off to volunteer with local organizations. Alloy has volunteered at the Food Bank of South Jersey, beautified grounds at UrbanPromise, cleaned up and painted classrooms, lent a helping hand to animal rescues, and more. We look forward to adding more hands-on activities to this list.
Many of our South Jersey neighbors face difficulties putting food on the table for their families. We proudly partner with the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) to serve as drop-off locations in Cherry Hill and Hammonton for NJCPA’s annual fall canned food drive. We encourage employees and clients to bring in their donations to help families enjoy the end-of-year holidays.
In lieu of employee and client gifts each year, we allow our staff members to nominate local causes and organizations that are meaningful to them. Over the years, we have supported organizations such as Philabundance, CHOP Foundation, Bringing Hope Home, American Cancer Society, Animal Welfare Association, Friends of Joey Reiser Foundation, Foster the Family, and more. We look forward to adding to this diverse list each December.
Alloy Silverstein encourages philanthropic giving throughout the year by way of payroll deduction. Since 2013, our employees pledge to participate in an annual campaign each summer to benefit our local United Way affiliate. Due to our fundraising efforts, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey honored Alloy Silverstein with the 2016 Campaign Champion Award for the Camden County community.
