solutions from hire to retire. To honor our past, we asked our team a few questions:
Before Abacus, we frequently referred clients to third-party payroll providers – different people answering
the phones, revolving account reps and inconvenient processes. In 1999, we launched Abacus with a $500 investment and a computer to offer consistent, client-focused payroll services. This move eliminated middlemen, streamlined end-of-year tax planning, and improved coordination for our small business clients.
By 2022, Abacus achieved a 99.3% client retention rate, highlighting the stark difference in service quality compared to national providers. In 2019, we merged with Payroll Express, furthering our growth and reach.
