Managing Shareholder Ren Cicalese and Associate Partner Ren Cicalese III Honored with Volunteer Award by NJCPA

(Cherry Hill, NJ) The New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) has announced the recipients of the first annual Volunteer Award Winners. Of the 28 2018 winners, two professionals from Alloy Silverstein have been recognized for their unselfish and dedicated service to the NJCPA and for making a difference in the New Jersey community:

    • Ren Cicalese, CPA, PFS, CGMA

      Managing Shareholder
      Ren graduated from Rutgers University-Camden in 1978, began his career at Alloy Silverstein in 1980, and today is Managing Shareholder and officer of the CPA firm. Throughout his career, he has been involved with many civic, professional, and charitable organizations including the American Heart Association, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Burlington County Special Olympics, Food Bank of South Jersey, Catholic Partnership Schools, the Cherry Hill and Greater Hammonton Chambers of Commerce, and is the immediate past President of INPACT Americas, an international alliance of independent accounting firms. Today Ren is currently serving on the Dean’s Executive Advisory Council of Rutgers University and champions the firm’s various charitable initiatives including our annual Adopt-A-Family program, United Way Employee Campaign, and our Go Red for Women fundraising efforts.  Ren was previously recognized by the NJCPA as a 50 Over 50 in July 2013, a Top CEO/CFO and a South Jersey Executive of the Year by South Jersey Biz, a Fifty Finest by Rutgers-Camden in 2000, and is a Charter member of Rutgers-Camden’s School of Business Hall of Fame.

    • Ren Cicalese III, CPA, MST

      Ren III graduated from Rutgers University-Camden in 2009 and received his Masters in Taxation from Philadelphia University the following year. As an Alloy Silverstein team member since 2005, Ren provides tax, accounting, and advisory services to a broad range of clients, with a specialty for manufacturers, title insurance companies, and professional service providers. Ren has been recognized several times as an up-and-comer by the New Jersey community for his contribution to philanthropy, passion for business, and impact on both the South Jersey business arena and the state’s accounting industry. He was distinguished as a “30 Under 30” by the New Jersey Society of CPAs in both 2011 and 2015, named a “40 Under 40” by SNJ Business People in 2014, a 2017 Emerging Leader by the Burlington County Times, and the 2017 Young Professional of the Year by the Non-Profit Development Center of Southern New Jersey. Ren is the firm coordinator for our annual NJCPA Fall Canned Food Drive and he currently serves as Director of the Southwest Chapter for the Society.

The NJCPA Volunteer Award recognized those members whose unselfish and dedicated service to the NJCPA and worthy causes in their communities have made a significant difference. Overall, 39 NJCPA members were highlighted for their contributions to the industry and the local community. Award recipients will be published in the September/October 2018 issue of New Jersey CPA Magazine.
