Summer 2016 Spotlight Employee: Kim Sheehan, CPA/PFS

Our spotlight this quarter is on Kim Sheehan, CPA, PFS.

Kim received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rutgers University-Camden in 1990. After graduation, she immediately joined the firm as a junior accountant and climbed the ranks to associate partner in 2008. She is licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.

During her 25 years at the firm, Kim has developed a primary focus on professional service clients such as law firms and medical practices. Her favorite part of working with clients is enjoying the relationships she has built over the years. As chair of the firm’s internal Business Tax Committee, she is well-versed in the tax code with respect to its impact on businesses and is responsible for keeping our team members up-to-date with the latest tax legislation changes.

Kim is also on the firm’s Hiring Committee, where she recruits and interviews prospective Alloy Silverstein team members and represents the firm at local university Career Day events. She has been integral in shaping the firm’s flexible work schedules to accommodate work/life balance for Alloy Silverstein’s staff. She has helped champion various causes at the firm, including coordinating the firm’s fundraising team for the American Cancer Society’s annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. At the local level, she is actively involved with the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Business Resource Advisory Group.

Kim achieved the AICPA Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) accreditation in 2000, a prestigious distinction shared by less than 5,000 CPAs nationwide. Together with her PFS certification and extensive tax background, Kim takes pleasure in working one-on-one with her clients to better understand their unique financial and tax matters. She is focused on bringing about a positive impact in her clients’ lives by helping them achieve their personal and professional goals.

A Marlton, New Jersey resident, Kim resides with her husband, Brian, her children, Samantha and Dylan, and their dog, Spice. Outside of the office, she enjoys going out with friends, attending concerts, and spending summers relaxing at the Jersey shore with her family.
