Julie was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and achieved her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rutgers University–Camden in 1989. Her career at Alloy began with an internship in 1988 and she became a full-time team member upon graduation. In 1992, Julie moved to NYC to pursue private accounting career opportunities and later went on to become a controller for a multi-state trucking company. After a few years at home raising her children, she rejoined Alloy Silverstein in 2006 and, as of July 2017, is an Associate Partner at the firm.
With over 20 years of accounting, tax, and advisory experience to her name, Julie represents varied clientele including the medical, legal, and real estate industries and trusts. She enjoys being there for her clients, creating orderliness out of mass information, and acting as a detective to discover what happened by using the clues in a client’s records. Julie is instrumental to the firm’s training program for onboarding new employees and is Alloy Silverstein’s go-to when it comes to firm software, technology, and training. She is responsible for evaluating new software and educating the team about need-to-know program updates. As a natural teacher and both a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Xero Certified Advisor, Julie has been our lead Alloy Academy presenter, helping clients and area professionals improve their accounting software skills at our free monthly workshops.
A licensed CPA in the state of New Jersey, Julie is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New Jersey Society of CPAs, where she actively represents the Society by frequently speaking on CPA Career Awareness to area South Jersey high schools. Julie serves on the Burlington-Camden Local Board of Directors for United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, volunteers by cooking for the Ronald McDonald House of SNJ, and is very active with many of the firm’s charitable initiatives.
A proud, self-proclaimed soccer mom, Julie resides in Delran, NJ with her husband and three sons. Off the soccer field sidelines, she loves cooking for her family and friends.
