Winter 2017 Spotlight Employee: Julie Strohlein, CPA

Our Alloy Spotlight this quarter is on Julie Strohlein, CPA.

Julie was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and achieved her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rut­gers University–Camden in 1989. Her ca­reer at Alloy began with an internship in 1988 and she became a full-time team member upon graduation. In 1992, Julie moved to NYC to pursue private account­ing career opportunities and later went on to become a controller for a multi-state trucking company. After a few years at home raising her children, she rejoined Alloy Silverstein in 2006 and, as of July 2017, is an Associate Partner at the firm.

With over 20 years of accounting, tax, and advisory experience to her name, Julie repre­sents varied clientele including the medical, legal, and real estate industries and trusts. She enjoys being there for her clients, creating orderliness out of mass information, and acting as a detective to discover what happened by using the clues in a client’s records. Julie is instrumental to the firm’s training program for onboarding new employees and is Alloy Sil­verstein’s go-to when it comes to firm soft­ware, technology, and training. She is respon­sible for evaluating new software and educat­ing the team about need-to-know program updates. As a natural teacher and both a certi­fied QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Xero Certi­fied Advisor, Julie has been our lead Alloy Acad­emy presenter, helping clients and area profes­sionals improve their accounting soft­ware skills at our free monthly workshops.

A licensed CPA in the state of New Jersey, Julie is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New Jersey Society of CPAs, where she actively represents the Society by frequently speaking on CPA Career Aware­ness to area South Jersey high schools. Julie serves on the Burlington-Camden Local Board of Directors for United Way of Greater Phila­delphia and Southern New Jersey, volunteers by cooking for the Ronald McDonald House of SNJ, and is very active with many of the firm’s charitable initiatives.

A proud, self-proclaimed soccer mom, Julie resides in Delran, NJ with her husband and three sons. Off the soccer field sidelines, she loves cooking for her family and friends.
