The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of us to face new realities—many uplifting, some more sobering. We’ve seen the power of small gestures like thank-yous to healthcare workers and first responders and drive-by birthday caravans. We’ve experienced the pleasure of simple things like inspiring messages from children drawn in sidewalk chalk. We’ve observed the kindness of strangers who have opened their hearts and pocketbooks to help neighbors.
We’ve also learned that family ties are more important than ever, and sadly, that the people we care about the most will not be with us forever.
When those individuals can no longer handle their own financial affairs or when they pass away, children, spouses, partners and/or trusted friends are often left both bereft and devoid of critical information.
Many people neglect the one thing that will be most helpful to their loved ones: written instructions to help fulfill their wishes and settle their estates.
While it’s not a legal document and does not supersede one, we know from experience that a Personal Financial Organizer is an invaluable tool at a time when emotions are running high, and clear direction is needed most.
Please seriously consider creating an organizer for the people that you love.
