Are you Eligible for the PA Tax Amnesty Program?

Pennsylvania Offering Tax Amnesty Program Now through June 19, 2017.

PA Taxpayers: Pay past-due taxes now with waived penalties and reduced interest.

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is currently offering a tax amnesty program through June 19, 2017 to taxpayers who owe past-due taxes. The state will waive all penalties and half of the interest owed if your delinquent taxes are satisfied during this period.

Tax Eligibility

There are over 30 types of unpaid or under-reported taxes that are eligible, including: personal income tax, sales and use tax, employer withholding tax, corporate net income tax, inheritance and estate tax, capital stock/foreign franchise tax, gross receipts tax, and more.

Taxes not eligible include federal taxes, taxes from another state, local and property taxes, and unemployment compensation administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.

Individual Eligibility

Both businesses and individuals with overdue state taxes as of 12/31/2015 are encouraged to apply for the amnesty program. If you have failed to file for tax periods prior to 12/31/2015, you also are generally eligible for this limited opportunity.

Note that if you participated in the 2010 PA Tax Amnesty Program, are actively undergoing bankruptcy, or are currently under criminal investigation or restitution for allegedly violating tax law, you will not be eligible for the 2017 Tax Amnesty Program.
