  • Due date for 4th installment of 2024 individual estimated tax. Consult with your CPA if any payments should be made before 12/31.

 

January 31, 2025

 

February 28, 2025

  • Payers must file most 1099 Forms (-MISC, -DIV, -K, etc.), 1095-B, and 1095-C with the IRS (April 1 if filing electronically).

 

March 1, 2025

  • Farmers and fishermen who did not make 2024 estimated tax payments must file 2024 tax returns and pay taxes in full to avoid a penalty.

 

March 3, 2025

  • Due date for employers to furnish Form 1095-B and 1095-C to employees.

IRS Direct File to Expand Availability and Coverage for the 2025 Tax Filing Season

The IRS has announced that Direct File will be available for double the number of states than last year for this upcoming tax season. For the 2025 tax filing season, Direct File will now be available in Alaska, Connecticut, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

 

Treasury and IRS Issue Guidance on Long-Term, Part-Time Employees in 403(b) Retirement Plans and Announce Delayed Applicability Date for Related Final 401(k) Regulation

The Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service issued guidance addressing long-term, part-time employees in 403(b) retirement plans under the SECURE 2.0 Act, which applies to 403(b) plans beginning in 2025. These plans are similar to 401(k) plans but are generally for employees of charities and public schools.
