Alloy Silverstein Announces Partnership with Waterfront Ventures to Advise Startups in Camden, NJ

(Cherry Hill, NJ) Alloy Silverstein announces a multi-year partnership with Waterfront Ventures, an economic development organization dedicated to revitalizing Camden as an attractive location for startups, budding technology companies, and emerging businesses.

A CPA and advisory firm to family and private businesses in the Greater Philadelphia region since 1959, Alloy Silverstein has proudly been a growth partner to all-size businesses from infancy through the exit stage, allowing the firm to partner six decades of accounting and tax expertise with today’s latest technology and modern accounting methods. Recognizing the need to further foster growth and development in Southern New Jersey’s tech scene, Managing Shareholder Reynold P. Cicalese, CPA, PFS, CGMA shares Waterfront Ventures’ vision of shifting the perception of Camden to be a thriving city ideal for entrepreneurship.

“Since graduating from Rutgers University-Camden in 1978, I have been a longtime supporter and believer in the potential that Camden has on our own South Jersey backyard,” says Cicalese. “The tech and startup scene in Philadelphia has been robust in recent years and Waterfront Ventures is doing an excellent job as an advocate shedding light on the opportunities within Camden and creating new ones as well.”

Waterfront Ventures was officially established in 2016 and promptly opened its first co-working space, Waterfront Lab, as an innovation hub and community center for startups and entrepreneurs. Waterfront Lab offers desk and office space along with hosting frequent events to promote networking, welcome in business leaders to share success stories, and further the growth of new business development in Camden.

“Between Waterfront Ventures’ economic development initiatives and programs designed to educate and empower new and aspiring business owners, a partnership with one of South Jersey’s leading CPA firms was a natural one,” explains Cicalese.

As to why the firm strongly believes in partnering with startups, Cicalese says that it all comes back to family. “When you help, support, mentor, inspire, and believe in a startup, it will affect that owner’s family for generations to come.”

As part of the terms of the ongoing partnership, Alloy Silverstein will serve as a sponsor at the upcoming Camden Catalyst pitch competition, where Cicalese will volunteer as a final-round judge. The firm will be an ongoing mentor and advisor to Waterfront Ventures’ participating startups and entrepreneurs.
